Unfortunately, Cindy McCain has shown her gross ignorance on the subject of PTSD. But, more telling is the revelation of a duplicitous nature when she spoke of the "chill" she experienced when Senator Obama voted against "funding her son" when Obama voted against a bill that did not include a time line for withdrawal from Iraq. It is peculiar that this same indignant mother did not "chill" when her son's father later voted against funding their son when Senator McCain voted against a similar bill because it did include a time line.

In my opinion, of the two women, Michelle Obama has shown herself more worthy of being called First Lady.

I wonder does McCain's voting record also send shivers up Cindy's spine. Of course not - they conveniently forget his voting record

The Senator brings up his wartime experience and his POW status at almost avery speech, contrary to Ms McCain's statement. I do not know how well he was trained, but I do know that he is misquoting the Code of Conduct regarding his "first in, first out," statements. The code states that prisioners will try to escape and aid others to escape. I have not seen anything about waiting you turn. I do not remember my training a an Air Force combat crew training as including the "first in, first out" rule.

This is an excellent posting. I've been doing research myself on voting records and what I have come up with is exactly what you have in your article. The thing that bothers me is that this isn't important to alot of people who are not on the military. They don't understand that he is one of us and yet he is not. This should be on Huffington Post or DU.

I wanted to point out that naming the unit her son is in puts him and his unit in far greater danger.

"“The ceremony Palin attended at Fort Wainwright last week didn’t involve the Alaska National Guard. Palin’s son is in the Army, and his unit - 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division - deployed to Iraq.”"

Stryker Brigades Combat Teams use the Stryker attack vehicle almost exlusively during operations in theater.

Anyone can google the unit and the vehicle type and no exactly what to look for in northern Iraq.

In fact, the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat team, 25th Infantry Division, has already been to Iraq (Mosul) twice before.
