Why I Support the Senator
I was born to two of the best parents anyone could hope to have. My father a Minister, my mother a Domestic Engineer (housewife), raised ten (10) children, five boys and five girls. Of the five boys, three of us served our country with pride. My brother Herman, who still resides in Louisiana, enlisted in the Army, served and fought in the Korean War, was seriously wounded, was awarded a “Purple Heart”, retired on disability by the Army, recovered from his wounds and re-enlisted. He also served in the Vietnam war and is now fully retired and an Obama supporter. My brother Ezra enlisted and served two tours of duty with the 82nd Airborne Divison in Vietnam. He suffers a partial hearing loss, and is in remission from cancer, as a result of his exposure to “Agent Orange” in Vietnam. The Veteran Administration (V.A.) tried to deny him the disability he was awarded as a result of cancer. He prevailed in his fight against V.A., and is now fully retired and resides in North Carolina. He is an Independent and an Obama supporter. I enlisted and served three years with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War Era. Did not fight in the war, however, lost a lot of friends to the war. I am an Democrat and Obama supporter. I understand the affects war has had on my family. I saw the strain placed on my parent, especially my mother while my brothers were on the “Front Line”. My mother and father prayed for their safe return. And even when they returned, bodies wounded, emotionally drained, we were just happy they returned.
I support Senator Obama because I believe that before he commits American troops to war, for whatever reason, he will use every diplomatic means possible to solve the problem. I believe he truly understands the strain war places not just on the economy, but on the American families whose sons and daughters are fighting for democracy, justice and the safety of our country. I believe he understands their commitment to this great country of ours, and he does not take that lightly. I know that before he commits our American troops to war, he is committed to knowing the truth and all of the facts, because he understands the toll it will take in lives.
I support Senator Obama, because of his fresh ideas and approaches he presents for dealing with issues, not just for the American people, but for the World in general.
And finally, my support for Senator Obama is about my children and grand-children, and ALL Americans whose children can be proud to say they grew up with a President they had a true voice in electing. He has inspired a new generation of voters. And contrary to the pundants, I believe world leaders are ready for a new voice. Someone once said, “Start Where You Are, Use What You Have And Do All You Can” I think Senator Obama is prepare to do exactly that. I cannot wait to call him Mr. President.

I to served in Vietnam, and don’t forget which party started that war,and which party ended it,and I will never, never support Obama.
I served in OIF and OEF and remember who started OEF and who started OIF. I also remember who didn’t bother to clean up one mess to open a pandora’s box for the other. It doesn’t matter which party started what war but who is going to make sure the same mistakes in your time are not duplicated.
Bill Hicks, it’s time to get out of Viet Nam and start caring and providing for todays veterans. Politics aside, we’re all veterens.
Bill,
So that is really your most intelligent (not to mention, open minded) measurement of why not to vote for someone? If so, how about the fact that the other major party started the current debacle/quagmire?
By the way, it’s “too”, not “to” when you want to say also.
