“All of us would agree that he’s an American hero due to his conduct as a prisoner of war, but he has no military experience on the ground fighting an insurgency in a country whose language he doesn’t speak and whose culture he doesn’t understand any more than Barack Obama does…
Senator McCain, in March of 2003, on the eve of the invasion of Iraq stated flat out “there is no doubt in my mind that we will be greeted as liberators.” Now this despite evidence not only from the state department, not only from the CIA, but even from within the defense department itself, that there was a high likelihood of an insurgency after the toppling of the Saddam Hussein regime, but according to Senator McCain, there was no doubt in his mind. Now that leads me to the most important quality I believe a commander in chief must possess, and that is the willingness to listen to views different from his preconceptions.”

My real problem with John McCain is how much did he tell the North Vietnamese. Is some one that may have compromised the safety of our forces truly qualified to be president? Is john McCain in the early stages of dementia it seems that he can not remember what he has said concerning issues that matter. Just how sharp is his mind? John McCain is a veteran I respect him for that he was a POW for that he should have a spacial place in the hearts of all Americans. There are those that chose to call him a war hero and he has never challenged that does that mean that he believes it.
On veterans issues John McCain has always been on the wrong side of this issue. What has he done to champion veterans care he even voted against funding for the VA hospitals. Lets send them to war then toss them to the side when they come home. What do we as a nation owe our veterans from war and peace time. Those that stepped forward to say I will die for my country if need be it does not matter if they serve in combat or not they all offered to give all for their country. Does John McCain honor those commitments it appears not.

What I believe you are trying to say, Larry is that John McCain; eventhough a Veteran, is not proud of it. I am proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. I am proud to be a United States Navy Veteran who proudly served his country for 30 years in the world’s greatest Navy. And as such, I am proud that I served my country and will always stand behing her regardless of of world opinion. It is said that our president leader has brought us into a state of untrust with our neighbors, but, he has. And, John McCain will only continue what “w” has built if he is elected. Yes, I strongly support Barak Obama and his dreams of bringing our country back to it’s feet and giving it’s people their promise of change. Together with OBAMA “we can change” for the future and make our country strong once again. A country divided cannot survive, let us unite for OBAMA! Thank you all veterans for what you gave and are giving today. RBB, CPO-USN Retired
